The (State) Industrial School for Girls at Lancaster provided instruction, employment, and reformatory treatment for neglected, vagrant, and delinquent girls in Massachusetts from 1856 to 1972. Memorandum is a narrative of its founding and early history written by Francis B. Fay, appointed trustee in 1855.
